Lifestyle | Top 10 Newborn Essentials

SO many of you are full of a baby right now or just had one or you’re getting ready to have one, adopt one or are fostering one and with all of that REALLY sweet stuff, I’ve been getting asked what my NEEDED baby items are. Here’s the short list, no BS. Ask ANY questions.
FYI: Each item is linked + bolded + usually is the title or says “THIS”

Let’s talk strollers….

Compact Stroller - Colugo

we take this baby when traveling, especially when we just had one. it has a storage basket below + a little suspension help for the bumpy roads and fits in the overhead bin ++ a rain cover. Also if you have one babe or one that has much older siblings it really is so lightweight and wearable like a purse and compact.

Nuna Mixx 2 for one child or big gaps between kids.

Nuna Demi Grow if you’re having kids back to back or already have one that still rides.

Booger Sucker

I’ve always used the Nose Frida but I’m tired of sucking boogers through a tube so I think I’ll order this one. I picked this one b/c I saw it on my friends counter the other day…No other reason.

Big buyers, fans and consistent gifters of Bambo Nature Diapers to new parents. They have NO fragrance, only a touch of print on the very top that doesn’t ever go through clothing and the most natural diaper i could find which makes me feel slightly more hopeful for their afterlife in a landfill somewhere. The subscription offering on Amazon is BAE and a case of 6 packs lasts us approximately four weeks.

Top two sleep essentials:

Doc-a-tot…. Makes life on the go easy… I think it makes them feel held and cozy and it lasts until they start rolling over…. It’s larger than other brands offering a little more versatility if you have a bigger/taller baby. I just throw a soft swaddle over it THIS Solly Baby Swaddle … and choose not to buy a print cover for it. **Do this at your own risk, it’s never recommended to have loose blankets around newborn babies.

The other item is THIS SPECIFIC sleep swaddle… It’s easy, no velcro and they get to keep their little hands by their little face just like in the womb… and that makes me feel good.

This muslin is my go to. It’s perfect to tuck over her legs in the carseat and lightweight + large enough to use for public feedings and makes me feel fashionable while draping it. Also, we used it as Amos’ scarf for family photos. You should not skip this buy.

Solly Wrap / For the win. Wear your babies, parents… it’s a gift, a bonding agent and a baby quieter. Enjoy your hands. We love Solly!

And last but not least… I LOVE this blanket. It goes over doc, acts as soft padding for the floor, covers her on a cold day in the car.

But the most important of all.. are love and patience with that baby. Remember nothing that they do or cry about is personally against you. They’re new and just want to be tucked close to you. xx-karen
