Bloody Mary, yes please!

Bloody Mary, yes please!

I will rarely turn down a bloody mary; on a plane, at brunch, maybe dinner out, at home, lunch? Great, sound like a 70 year old alcoholic yet?! I can't help it. They're almost a sixth love language in my books. My flatmate in NY would laugh when I'd offer one near dinner because, "they're a meal, Kare." Yes, they are.. and there is always a variance in what I'm serving up. So rarely will you have the exact same but leaving my base mix the same helps with a tidbit of consistency. But that's the best part about B.M.'s.. you get to mix and match and they never have to be the same. What I'm sipping as I'm typing is just as follows...

Start by rimming the glass (or just sprinkling it in) my fave, See Salt, adding a shot and a half (ish) of Effin Cucumber vodka and whichever veggies are calling your name. If you don't love cucumbers, you'll want to use plain vodka for sure. In that case Tito's is our favorite. I usually add a spring (or 5) of fresh dill. We just returned from PHX tho and the dill wasn't looking so fresh. I always add a vinegar OR a lemon juice. Today's choice vinegar was Mother's Bragg Apple Cider, 2 cap fulls. Yum + health.

Staple ingredient: The Real Dill Bloody Mix. If you've had a bloody at the famous Snooze you've had a taste of the goodness that is jarred here in Colorado and I promise, it's worth always having on hand. If you're local to COS, Coal Train Downtown sells the mix as well as Till Kitchen (technically The Roost) if you're on the North end, like me.

I topped todays with salted nuts and shaved cheese and I don't regret it. YUM. The only problem is that I didn't add enough because I'm sitting here with all of the treats gone and only liquid left. Wa wa. PS. Olives are a mainstay in my drinks too... but I've been eating them like crazy and I'm fresh out! Tragic. What do you love in yours? Please share!

Cheers to 2017, hello 2018. Can't wait to see what you bring.

xx, k
